A resolution that would have given the Palestinians U.N. credentials was postponed. The resolution’s backers decided to postpone the vote, which would have made the Palestinians representatives of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and parts of eastern Jerusalem, because of a lack of support, said Arye Mekel, deputy permanent representative of Israel to the United Nations.
