A Russian Jewish mogul charged with embezzling $10 million is being pressed by Russia’s natural gas monopoly to repay a $200 million debt. Russian President Vladimir Putin recently said Gazprom should force Vladimir Goussinsky, the leader of the Russian Jewish Congress, to repay the loan made to his Media-Most company. Some Jewish observers fear that repaying the debt could ruin Goussinsky and curb his support of Russian Jewish life.
