A satellite designed and built at an Israeli university was launched from the former Soviet republic of Kazakhstan over the weekend. The launch of Gurwin TechSat II, originally set for June 23, was delayed because of technical difficulties with the Russian rocket launcher. The satellite, which is designed to enhance communications and study the ozone layer, is a project of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa.
