A Senate committee postponed a vote on Daniel Pipes’ nomination to the U.S. Institute of Peace. The Senate’s Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee did not vote on the nomination because a quorum was not present. Still, several Democratic senators blasted Pipes’ selection and criticized his writings on Islam and Muslims. Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.) asked for a hearing before the vote is reconsidered.
