A senior Israeli negotiator reportedly held secret talks with a Syrian official. The talks took place two weeks ago in Geneva, said a spokesman for Tourism Minister Amnon Lipkin-Shahak. The Israeli daily Yediot Achronot, citing no sources, said Shahak was told that Syrian President Hafez Assad wants to resume negotiations.
