A southern Israeli town briefly went on strike to protest the government’s failure to stop Palestinian rocket salvoes from the Gaza Strip. Sderot residents blocked road access to their town and the municipality suspended services Tuesday. There also were threats to prevent Defense Minister Amir Peretz, a Sderot resident, from leaving town.
