A synagogue and community center in upstate New York was destroyed by fire. Monday’s fire destroyed the Torah scroll at Congregation B’nai Torah Jewish Community Center in Greenwood Lake. An electrical problem is believed to have caused the fire. B’nai Torah was planning to celebrate its 50th anniversary in October.
