A top European official said Yasser Arafat erred by rejecting an Israeli peace offer at the Camp David summit. Speaking last Friday from Tokyo, European Commission President Romano Prodi said the peace deal that former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak offered the Palestinian Authority President in July 2000 remained a good starting point for an eventual solution.
