A top-secret intelligence document that details British involvement in a 1996 attempt to assassinate Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi was reportedly posted on an Internet Web site. The document is widely accepted to be authentic, but the London Sunday Times said it is complying with a government request not to publish the Yahoo Web site address. The document details contacts between Britain’s MI-6 intelligence agency and a group of plotters who staged an abortive coup when they attacked Gadhafi’s motorcade in 1996.
