A top Swedish politician is calling on his country’s prime minister to set up a historical commission to investigate revelations that more than 250 Swedes were members of the Nazi SS. The comments by Alf Svensson, the leader of Sweden’s opposition Christian Democratic Party, came after a television documentary this week made the revelation and before Sweden hosts an international conference on the Holocaust later this month.
