Log of the man mountain “Putzy” Hanfstaengl:

Up early and to rejoining his mates at the Harvard Class of ’09 reunion—

Accepts invitation to attend the wedding of John Jacob Astor III, and Ellen Tuck French at Newport on June 30—

Refuses to comment on Nazi politics including repercussions on von Papen’s blast at Hitlerism—

Continues to be followed by brace of state troopers—

Confronted with autobiographical material written some months ago in which he extols Hitler and describes his own unfortunate encounter with New York Jews at the close of the world war as follows:

“Being a German conducting my family’s art firm at 545 Fifth avenue, New York, I suffered the same as all other countrymen of mine— I was robbed of the firm, worth about $600,000 by the Right Honorable Mitchell Palmer, Alien Property Custodian, who sold the firm after the armistice at a forced auction for about $9,000 to a Jewish firm in New York. This may serve as a hint to the dear reader as to who in reality won the war.”
