A U.S. congressional delegation to Ukraine will meet with Jewish leaders there. Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.) and Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.), co-chairmen of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, which monitors human rights overseas, will lead a 15-member delegation to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s annual parliamentary assembly, held this year in Kiev on July 5-9. The delegation, which will also include Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), the U.S. House of Representatives majority leader, will also travel to Odessa to meet Jewish leaders and will visit Babi Yar, the site of the massacre of 33,000 Jews in September 1941.
