A U.S. House of Representatives committee passed legislation condemning the Taliban government of Afghanistan’s recent decision to force all non-Muslims to wear identifying badges. “This resurfacing of tactics used against the Jews in Nazi Germany reminds all of us that we must remain vigilant when it comes to defending human rights,” said Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.), who introduced the bill.
