A U.S.-led panel probing the causes of the current Israeli-Palestinian violence met with Prime Minister Ehud Barak in Jerusalem. The panel’s head, former Sen. George Mitchell, was quoted as saying the commission wants to help bring an end to the violence and restart peace negotiations.
