A Ukraine parliament member has drafted a bill that would send those who incite public anti-Semitism to prison.
Gennady Moskal’s measure would strengthen criminal proceedings against those who incite anti-Semitism and racial discord.
The public insulting of ethnic minorities or foreigners would be punished by a fine of $670 to $1,660 or jail up to two years. Public inciting to violence would be punished by incarceration for five years.
Public anti-Semitic and xenophobic expressions would be punished by a fine of $23 to $50 or one month in jail. The use of fascist symbols would be punished by a fine of $50 to $66 or one month in jail.
