Abstention from independent action and the holding of further demonstrations by the Jews of Palestine was demanded in a cable despatched by the London Zionist Executive to the Zionist Executive here, conveying the assurance of the British government that it fully appreciates the deplorable character of the events of last Friday when the Arab demonstration descended upon the Wailing Wall area, which was followed by a series of attacks.

The London Zionist Executive further declares that it is anticipated that emphatic instructions will be sent by the London government to the governor of Palestine for energetic measures to be taken to safeguard the Jewish position at the Wailing Wall. The holding of further demonstrations and independent action by other organizations in Palestine may render more difficult the efforts of the Zionist Organization to obtain a satisfactory solution of the whole problem, the cablegram stated.
