A palatial building in Cernauti was donated today for a home for needy and aged Jewish actors by the Jewish actress Rachel Axelrod.
“I am doing this to commemorate the memory of my late husband,” she said.
The husband of Mme. Axelrod was the well-known Jewish theatrical manager Abraham. Axelrod, who died in Rumania in 1925 at the age of sixty-seven.
