A “color” line-up by Afro-Asian nations at the United Nations presents a major problem for the UN and was the reason that Israel tried to find solutions to the Sinai and Gaza evacuation issues outside the UN, Mrs. Golda Meir Israel Foreign Minister, told the Jerusalem Press Club today.

In any dispute between a former colonial nation and a “white” state, Mrs. Meir said, the Afro-Asian bloc aligns itself against the latter and through a de facto veto power paralyzes UN action. She called this a “grave problem” for the international organization.

The Foreign Minister revealed that at the last General Assembly meeting in New York, the heads of two Asian delegations undertook to arrange a private meeting between Mrs. Meir and Arab representatives. However, the meeting never came off, she revealed.
