Agriculture Dept. Authorizes Israel to Buy $11, 897, 000 Worth of Grains

The United States Department of Agriculture authorized Israel today, in two separate agreements, to purchase $11, 897,000 worth of wheat and grain sorghums. The larger deal, involving 175,000 metric tons of American wheat, was in the form of an authorization totaling $10,900,000. The other authorization permits the sale to Israel of about 22, 000 metric tons of grain sorghums, valued at $997, 000 under the Food for Peace program.
