Deputy Prime Minister Yigal Allon was told by an Army officer yesterday that there are between 200,000 and 500,000 mines still buried in the Golan Heights of Syria and that it would take years to dismantle all of them. Gen. Allon got the information during a visit to new Israeli settlements in the Golan region. He also visited Druze villages there and assured the inhabitants of Israeli protection. The Druze are non-Moslem Arabs whose villages lie in Israeli and Arab territories. Israeli Druze have always been loyal to Israel.
