Ambassador Harman Honored for ‘eloquent Championship’ of Israel’s Cause

More than 250 communal, civic and religious leaders paid tribute tonight to Avraham Harman, Israel’s Ambassador to the United States, for his “eloquent championship of Israel’s cause, ” at an Israel bond testimonial dinner at the Hotel Pierre. The dinner resulted in sales of over $150, 000 in Israel bonds.

Irving Elias, chairman of the dinner, praised Ambassador Harman “for his eloquent championship of Israel’s cause in the United States, and for putting into such vivid terms problems and progress, her potential and her needs, ” Mr. Elias also stressed “the enormous economic progress made by Israel during the past 13 years, thanks in a large measure, to American investments in Israel bonds. ” Ira Guilden, general chairman of the New York Committee for State of Israel bonds, and Bernard Manischewitz, chairman of the Manhattan Division, also paid tribute to Ambassador Harman.
