The Israel Government has authorized the construction of a rubber reclaiming plant in the coastal town of Natanya, by the U.S. Rubber Reclaiming Company of Buffalo, N. Y. The plant will be operated by Gamid Rubber Products and Plastics, Ltd., a subsidiary of Koor Industries, the industrial division of Solel Bonch of Israel.
The plant, which will have an ultimate daily capacity of 20,000 to 25,000 pounds, will utilize a process developed by the American firm for the reclamation of large quantities of scrap rubber, a growing by-product of Israel’s industrialization program. Under the terms of an agreement between Gamid and the American firm, the plant’s output, which will go primarily into the production of tires and tubes, may also be exported to countries in Europe and Africa.
