Questions regarding Jewish claims against Germany were discussed by leaders of the German Social Democratic Party at a conference in Paris arranged by Adolph Held, chairman of the Jewish Labor Committee and member of the praesidium of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany, it was reported here today by the Labor Committee.

The report said that Mr. Held received assurances that the British, Belgian. French and German labor movements would support the Jewish claims against Germany. It revealed that at Mr. Held’s invitation, three important leaders of the Social Democratic Party of Germany came to Paris to confer on the Jewish claims.

The German Social Democratic Party officials informed Mr. Held that they found the demands of the Jewish people more than just, but that the claims could never hope to compensate for the terrible destruction and uprooting of the Jewish communities of Europe. They assured Mr. Held that they would do everything in their power to see to it that the German Government meets the claims now being made against it.

Mr. Held made clear that it is the duty of the German labor movement to give its complete support to this project. “The American labor movement,” he said, “will be pleased to see an early and positive solution of the problem with the labor movement of Germany actively supporting the just claims of the Jewish people.”
