A delegation of American Jewish leaders left today for Paris to attend a conference of directors of the Joint Distribution Committee’s programs in various European countries. The conference, scheduled to be held April 5-11, will analyze the relief, resettlement and reconstruction projects of the J.D.C. this year.
Edward M.M. Warburg, chairman of the J.D.C., who heads the delegation, declared “the conference will enable us to present to the American Jewish community an accurate, detailed picture of the still-pressing conditions and needs of Europe’s Jews.” Rabbi Jonah B. Wise, national chairman of the United Jewish Appeal and a delegation member, said “the tremendous progress of Europe’s Jewish survivors since V-E Day has been made possible in large measure by the unstinting assistance of American Jews through the U.J.A. Other members of the delegation are Judge M. Bernon of Cleared and Robert H Klein of Chicago Moses A. Leavitt and S.H. Scheuer of New York.
