The convention of the Labor Zionist Organization of America concluded here today with the election of a 50-member central committee which was empowered to elect national officers at its first meeting, to be held early in June in New York.

In a resolution adopted by the more than 300 delegates, the convention went on record as favoring the establishment of a third party based on organized labor, and pledged its support to such a political party when it is formed. Another resolution expressed alarm at the Arab threats of a “second round” of warfare against Israel.

“More than any government, the Government of the United States is now in a position to help bring order, peace and prosperity and economic assistance to the state of Israel and other Middle Eastern countries under the Point Four program,” the resolution said. A farewell luncheon was tendered to Eliahu Elath, Israel Ambassador to Washington who has been transferred as diplomatic representative of the Jewish state to Great Britain.
