This year’s Fourth of July celebration and fireworks display in the huge Los Angeles Coliseum will be dedicated by the County Council of the American Legion to a “Salute to Israel.”

Tremendous fireworks displays will depict the contributions to civilization of Israel and the Jewish people. Michael Comay, Israel’s permanent representative at the United Nations and Yaacov Avnon, Israel Consul General in Los Angeles, will be guests of the American Legion.

The board of directors of the Jewish Federation-Council praised the American Legion for the plan and for its work in aiding relations between Israel and the United States.

Arrangements for the salute were worked out by American Legion officials with the Community Relations Committee of the Jewish Federation-Council.
