Charged with advocating anti-Semitic and anti-Negro propaganda and the distribution of hate literature, the Signal Hill Post of the American Legion will go on trial April 4 before an American Legion Board. If found guilty the accused post may lose its charter.
The Signal Hill Post was ordered to surrender its charter last September 20, which the post refused to obey. The post continued in its statements in its official bulletin that it was a “white Christian post–we are proud of it.”
The Legion charged that the post advocated contributions to “publications admittedly anti-Semitic and anti-Negro, and advocating contributions to Gerald L.K. Smith’s publications.”
