The American Zionist Council today addressed an appeal to Secretary of State Dean Acheson asking the United Stated to use its good offices with the Government of Iraq to halt the persecution of Iraqi Jews and the wholesale expropriation of their property.

The appeal, sent in behalf of all major American Zionist organizations, described the mob violence and discriminatory decrees reported in the eyewitness testimony of the thousands of Iraqi Jews now arriving in Israel. The reports have been corroborated by broadcasts on Arab radios in the Middle East, the appeal pointed out.
