Americans have an historic mission to go forward and eliminate discriminatory practices from all areas of public and private life, Dr. S. Andhil Fineberg, community service director of the American Jewish Committee, declared in an address delivered tonight before the Society of the Friends of Touro Synagogue here. The occasion was the combined celebration of the 159th anniversary of George Washington’s famous letter to the Congregation of Touro Synagogue together with the second annual commemorative exercises of the synagogue’s dedication as a national shrine by the Federal Government.
