Funeral services were held yesterday for Amzi Berla, 75, who was active in the philanthropic endeavor of this city for many years. A native of Newark, he lived here for sixty years when he moved to El Paso, Texas. He remained there for eight years and then moved back, residing in South Orange, N. J. He was a charter member of the local Y.M.Y.W.H.A., president of the Jewish Social Service, a director of the Jewish Children’s Home and a member of B’nai Brith. Rabbi Solomon Foster of Temple B’nai Jeshurun officiated at the services,
