An American academic who gained fame in a Holocaust-denial lawsuit came to Cape Town to launch a major campaign for Israel. Referring to the case in which she was sued for libel by David Irving for accusing him of being a Holocaust denier, Deborah Lipstadt said she felt that by defending her stand she was performing the ultimate act of kindness for those who had perished during the Holocaust.
