An Iranian newspaper broke a long-standing taboo by printing a color picture of the U.S. flag on its front page. The daily Hammihan, reflecting on calls within the country to end more than 20 years of hostility with the United States, carried pictures of the U.S. and Iranian flags above an editorial, “Iran-U.S. Ties: Dark and Bright Aspects.”
