An Israeli airborne rescue officer who went missing during a trek in Laos was found dead.
Avner Bardugo, a captain in Israel’s Unit 669, fell overboard while kayaking in the Southeast Asian country last week.
His disappearance prompted a massive search, with several of his comrades from the elite airborne rescue unit flying out to help in the search.
On Monday, the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem announced that Bardugo’s body had been found in the river where he went missing.
