An Israeli Cabinet minister unveiled a peace plan Wednesday that offers the Palestinians a state in Jordan. Tourism Minister Benny Elon of the far-right National Union bloc held a news conference in the Knesset to propose that the international community provide economic assistance for the limited resettlement of Palestinian refugees in Jordan, where the majority of the population already is Palestinian. Israel would maintain sovereignty over the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
