An Israeli delegation left for Washington over the weekend to hold talks on a request for increased economic and defense aid. Israel has asked for $4 billion to offset security costs incurred from fighting Palestinian terrorism and preparations for a possible war with Iraq. Israel is also seeking economic assistance in the form of $8 billion in loan guarantees.
