An Israeli newspaper and a leading interfaith group launched a multimillion-dollar drive to aid poor Israelis. Modeled after the “neediest family” funds that several U.S. newspapers have sponsored, which usually go into action around Christmas, the “March of Hope” will authorize grants of up to $6,000 per family to be used for food, medical care, education, vocational training and other needs.
