An Israeli political watchdog challenged the attorney general’s decision not to indict Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. The Movement for Quality Government in Israel petitioned the High Court of Justice on Wednesday to order Attorney General Menachem Mazuz to re-examine bribery allegations that had haunted Sharon for months. Mazuz cleared the prime minister of all charges Tuesday. But judicial experts see little chance of the High Court intervening.
