An old synagogue will be renovated and rededicated in the hometown of Ukraine’s president. Jewish leaders hope Viktor Yuschenko will attend the September ceremony for the renovated 100-year-old synagogue in Sumy, home to some 1,500 Jews. Ahead of the shul opening, Jewish leaders brought a new rabbi to town.
