An organization dedicated to helping French Jews immigrate to Israel was launched. The Ami Fund was founded by French Jewish philanthropist Pierre
Besnainou, who donated $1.5 million to start it. Ami Fund representatives said at a news conference in Jerusalem on Thursday that they hoped to help as many as 30,000 new French immigrants in the next five years.
