An organization representing 4,500 North American Jewish educators is calling on the American Jewish community to join it in solving the personnel shortage in Jewish education. The Coalition for the Advancement of Jewish Education, meeting this week in Ft. Collins, Colo., is urging the Jewish community to provide competitive salaries and benefits, supportive work environments and mentoring programs for new teachers.
