A public luncheon meeting to mobilize American support for the anti-Hitler forces in the Saar territory will be held at the Town Hall tomorrow at 12:30 o’clock. Bishop Francis J. McConnell will preside. George Z. Medalie, New York attorney, Dr. Kurt Rosenfeld, former Prussian Minister of Justice, and Professor Julius Lips of Columbia University will speak, it has been announced by the provisional American committee “For the Status Quo in the Saar.”
The threat to world peace implicit in the Saar situation, alleged intimidation and violence used by Nazi agents in the Saar to silence opponents of Hitlerization of the territory, the alternative of continuation of the League of Nations rule which may be chosen by Saar voters in the plebiscite set for January 13th—these and related topics will be discussed at the luncheon, the committee announces.
