The Organization of Partisans and Anti-Nazi Fighters pledged at a meeting held here last night “to do everything in our power” to prevent the playing of music by Richard Strauss and Richard Wagner by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Philharmonic announced yesterday that it will resume performing Strauss and Wagner works this season. Music by these German composers had been banned by the Philharmonic since 1938. In calling for a Philharmonic reversal of its new attitude, the organization that met last night referred to Strauss and Wagner as “fathers of hatred and murder.”
