The Palestine Arab High Committee, meeting in the Lebanese exile of the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, tonight rejected the British White Paper as not going far enough in meeting the Arabs’ demands. Meanwhile, Arab terrorists continued their activities. A Jewish woman was killed in her sleep during an attack on the Kvutzath Nekudoth settlement near Haifa. Ramat Yocchanan and other settlements were attacked by Arab bands during the night.

Although not completely satisfied with the British decision, Arab newspapers nevertheless expressed jubilation at the blow it had delivered to the Jewish homeland. A1 Jihad, organ of the ex-Mufti, declared: “Zionists, say farewell to your dreams.”
