A ten-man delegation of Arabs representing the population in areas still under military government in Israel today called on the Parliamentary pressidum and asked for the end of military control.
The delegation said that military administration “brings unnecessary hardships, hampers economic development and creates unemployment” in the Arab areas. Deputy Speaker Dr. Josef Burg promised to raise the issue with the appropriate Parliamentary committees, but pointed out that the security situation in the effected areas is still very grave because of the continuous infiltration by Arabs outside of Israel.
