Arab Gets Seven Years for Attack on Safed Jewish Policeman

Ali Saleh, an Arab, was sentenced to seven years imprisonment by Judge Litt for attacking Police Inspector Cohen during the riots in Safed.

In pronouncing sentence, Judge Littdeclared that although intent to murder was apparent, it had not been proven that Ali Saleh brandished an axe at a time when Jewish life was generally threatened.
