The 13-nation Arab League will hold a special meeting in Cairo on December 7 to discuss military measures against Israel, according to reports received here today.
Secretary-General Abdel Khalek Hassouna of the Arab League summoned Arab foreign ministers and military chiefs of staff to an emergency session to discuss the military situation on Israel’s borders. Recommendations are expected by the Unified Arab Command. It is believed that the measures to be recommended fall short of outright war but envisage increased commando harassment and guerrilla tactics.
(Reports from Damascus received in the U.S. today said that Jordanian King Hussein told a press conference in Amman that Jordan would agree to basing United Nations peace-keeping troops along the Israel-Jordanian border.)
