Arab Neighbors Welcome New Negev Settlement Established During Night

Arab neighbors of the Negev settlement of Sdeh Akiva, which was established during the night, called this morning to welcome the 30 Jewish colonists. They were received with the traditional Oriental welcoming ceremonies.

Hamid Zawatt, a notorious gang leader during the anti-Jewish disturbances of 1936, has been released from Acre Prison. When he arrived in his home town of Nablus, he was greeted by a delegation of the Arab Higher Executive.

The Arab press reports from Beirut that King Abdullah of Transjordan has sent a letter to the presidents of Syria and Lebanon, declaring that the activities of the Arab League run contrary to the interests of the Arab nations.
