At least one Jew was killed and considerable property was damaged by an Arab mob that invaded the Jewish quarter of Tunis yesterday, it was reported here today from Tunisia.
The Arabs were apparently organized into two groups which attacked from different directions. Police broke up the clash by firing into the air. Leaders of the local Jewish community, which numbers about 35,000 people and represents less than 10 percent of the city’s population, have appealed to the World Jewish Congress for assistance.
