The failure of the Soviet to grant a Russian visa to Guskin Weinberg, one of two delegates of the American Arbeiter Ring, who came to Russia to establish a hospital under its auspices, was explained in a letter by Maxim Litvinoff today.
“The visa was originally refused”, says Litvinoff “owing to a misunderstanding, but as soon as the matter was cleared up instructions were issued to visa the passports, but Weinberg had already left. We esteem the aid of the Arbeiter Ring and all other workers’ organizations to the Soviet. No obstacles have ever been nor will be placed in the way or their representatives to enter Russia.”
Litvinoff’s letter was addressed to a representative of the Arbeiter Ring.
