The Joint Distribution Committee today announced that the Council of Jewish Aid for War Victims in Argentina yesterday allocated substantial sums for emergency aid to Jews in liberated Poland as well as to meet the needs of Jewish orphans in France.
The allotments, reported by Simon Mirelman, president of the Council, will be made from the $250,000 campaign conducted by the Council in Buenos Aires for the relief and rehabilitation of Jews in liberated areas. Funds appropriated by the Council will be distributed by the Joint Distribution Committee through its representatives abroad, the announcement said.
